A good example of archaeology and its use in historical landscapes can be found at the Ceannabeinne Township Heritage Trail. The clearance of the village can be set against the 1841 census as well as the archaeology of domestic structures.Visitors are guided round the former settlement by a series of carefully prepared information boards that make sense of the physical remains and note what had been found.
