There was a warm welcome from the English Heritage staff member at Saxtead Green Post Mill. And the Ministry of Works sign is there to make it clear where to obtain your ticket (or show your membership card). The Post Mill was placed in state guardianship in 1951.
It is good to see how these stylish Ministry signs continue to play a part in guiding visitors round a site.
A similar sign can be seen at the ‘visitor centre‘ at Grimes Graves in Norfolk.
