This week saw two major sales of ‘ancient art’ at Sotheby’s and Christie’s in New York. Combined with the two sales earlier in the summer, some $26.3 million worth of ancient art has been auctioned in 2015. This is roughly equivalent to 2014 with $26.8 million. There has been a steady decrease since 2010 ($133.8 million).
